A Dallas treehouse shaped like a nautilus lists for $8.9M

Most houses in Preston Hollow compete on acreage and proximity to former presidents. This one competes on geometry.
The limestone-and-copper estate at 5110 Park Lane, designed by architect Michael Murphy as a nautilus shell, is back on the market at $8,875,000 after opening in May at just under $10 million. Compass broker Faisal Halum has the listing. Across the main house and an attached natatorium the property runs past 17,000 square feet on 1.67 acres, with a creek cutting through mature trees.
Rooms fan outward from a central elevator in wedge-shaped slices, an arrangement meant to give every space a view into the canopy. Lueders limestone, quarried in Texas for the project, runs from the exterior into the interiors. The upper level holds the main living quarters: buffed concrete floors, Venetian plaster, three bedrooms, plus a guest apartment with two more. Five full baths and four half-baths serve the house.
Below, the brief flips from living to work and play: offices, media rooms, a gym and the natatorium, where a lap pool ends in a fiber-optic waterfall. Parking for five cars sits behind a wrought-iron gate. Highland Park Village and Love Field are close enough that the house works for someone who treats Dallas as a part-time base.
Even in a neighborhood that has housed George W. Bush and Mark Cuban, a spiral plan this literal is rare. The ask has come down about $1.1 million since spring. The shell has not.
