Christian Yelich lists his new Malibu mansion for $30M

Beau Brummell · November 5, 2026
The Brewers captain listed his newly finished 5,300-square-foot Malibu house for $30 million after buying the lot for $5.55 million in 2020.

Christian Yelich bought a Malibu acre with approved plans for $5.55 million in 2020. The house that now sits on it is asking $30 million.

The Milwaukee Brewers captain and recent World Series winner has listed a newly finished 5,300-square-foot hillside house designed by Michael Kovac of KOVAC Design Studio. Architectural Digest reported the build wrapped this year. A studio representative told the magazine Yelich plans to move his family to Wisconsin. His mother, Alecia Yelich of Compass, holds the listing; her practice specialises in athlete relocations.

The house has four bedrooms, four full baths, a powder room, a pool bath and an outdoor shower. French hardwood floors sit over radiant heat. Floor-to-ceiling glass and retractable walls open the primary suite to the view; even the soaking tub and walk-in shower face the water. The listing leans on the Queen's Necklace, Surfrider Beach, Pacific Coast Highway and Nobu as the everyday backdrop.

Inside, the brief is entertainment-first: a chef's kitchen with a sink aimed at the ocean, automated pocket doors to the terrace, a custom wet bar and a private cinema with an LED wall, concession room and acoustic treatment. Closets in the secondary bedrooms come with refrigerators. It is the sort of specification sheet written for someone who expects the house to work as hard as the calendar.

A lot bought for $5.55 million and rebuilt from the ground up does not list at $30 million by accident. Whether Malibu pays that premium for a brand-new athlete build is the market's question. Yelich's answer is already on Compass.
